Hotel Lily of the Valley: A Review of This Luxury Hotel Near Saint-Tropez

Hotel Lily of the Valley is a luxury wellness hotel located in La Croix-Valmer, overlooking the beautiful Gigaro Beach and Cap Lardier. This hotel (which opened in 2019) is the perfect contrast to the glitzy party scene of nearby Saint-Tropez. Itโ€™s a popular stay for visitors looking to explore the iconic town while enjoying a peaceful French Riviera escape away from the crowds.

I stayed at this La Croix-Valmer hotel in the summer of 2025. Iโ€™ll cut to the chase โ€“ I absolutely loved my stay at this serene hotel, and would happily return. With that said, if youโ€™re considering booking Lily of the Valley for your Cรดte d’Azur trip, there are a few things you should know before deciding if itโ€™s the right fit for you! This review covers what you need to keep in mind before you finalize your booking.ย

Hotel Lily of the Valley Review: What I Loved About My Stay

Hereโ€™s everything that I enjoyed during my stay at this stunning greater Saint-Tropez hotel.

Beautifully Designed and Serene Property

Lily of the Valley was designed by Philippe Starck. The designer and architect drew inspiration from the Hanging Gardens of Babylon and California villas, creating warm, relaxing, and light-filled spaces.

The exterior feels like a garden, with lush greenery surrounding the buildings. Since the hotel is situated up on a hill, the views of the Mediterranean Sea below canโ€™t be beat (especially from the main pool!).

What also stood out to me was the peace and quiet of the property. Despite visiting during peak travel season, the hotel felt incredibly serene, and we werenโ€™t running into other guests too often. This is likely due to the spread out nature of the property, and the fact that it is somewhat small with 53 rooms and suites.

Gorgeous Room with Amazing Views

For my visit, I booked a Classic Room, which is suitable for two adults.

The room includes a super comfortable bed, ample closet space, a small dining table and chairs (perfect for enjoying room service!), a mini bar stocked with complimentary snacks and drinks, and a TV. There is a tablet in the room where you can view current wellness program offerings, menus for the restaurants, and more.

There is also a private, spacious terrace that overlooks the lush hills of Gigaro, as well as floor-to-cieling windows so that you can enjoy the view from inside.

Of course, the artful design continues into the room. The bathroom is especially gorgeous โ€“ Iโ€™d kill to have that marble transported to my own home.

Thoughtful Details & Amenities

One of the things that really makes Lily of the Valley shine is the attention to detail and extra amenities. When we arrived at our room, we found a bottle of rose from a local winery and a delicious small cake to welcome us.ย

The thoughtful touches really came through with housekeeping. Beyond your typical, expected cleaning services, weโ€™d return to the room to find our phone chargers wrapped up, our eyeglasses set out on Lily of the Valley-branded glasses cleaning cloths, my makeup and brushes carefully organized on a wash cloth, and more.

I also appreciated the turn down service, where theyโ€™d put the (very plush) slippers and a comfortable mat out on either side of the bed, provide us with extra water, and dim the lights. These are all small gestures, but they made our stay that much more relaxing.

Speedy, Helpful Service

On a related note, the service at Lily of the Valley is top-notch. Beyond everyone being friendly and personable, the staff was incredibly attentive. Whenever we had a request (for laundry pickup, help with bags at checkout, etc.), someone was available to help within minutes. Staff was also readily available to take our order by the pool or at the restaurant, and to otherwise answer any questions when needed.ย

High-Quality Spa & Wellness Programs

The award-winning Shape Club at Lily of the Valley encompasses the hotelโ€™s spa and fitness program.

If you really want to hone in on your health, you can book one of the hotelโ€™s four wellness programs: weight loss, detox, sport, and better aging. These programs can last anywhere from 4 to 14 days, and are catered to your needs.

Of course, even if you donโ€™t book one of these programs, you can still make use of the facilities. There are numerous classes and excursions offered through the hotel. This includes yoga and sculpt classes, guided hiking excursions, beachside workouts, and more. The spacious gym also includes state-of-the-art workout equipment.

I enjoyed an excellent massage at the peaceful, sun-soaked spa (which, as expected, is beautifully designed). While there, I also took advantage of the spaโ€™s amazing hammam, snow shower, and two saunas.

Excellent Restaurants & Beach Club

Lily of the Valley has three restaurants: Vista (located on the property), and Pepe and Brigantine (located at the beach club).ย

Breakfast is included as part of your stay, and served at Vista (which is located between the lobby and main pool). There was plenty to choose from on the menu, and I really enjoyed everything we ordered (with their avocado toast and their juices being a personal favorite!).

Dinner at Brigantine (a seaside Italian restaurant) was also excellent. Both the food and drinks were delicious (the pizza we ordered was simple yet incredible), and the setting is beautiful. While out on the terrace, you get unobstructed views of the beach. It’s the perfect place to dine while watching the sunset.

While I didnโ€™t get a chance to dine at Pepe (a more casual restaurant right next to Brigantine), I heard great things about the food and service while chatting with other guests.

In addition to the restaurants, the hotel has a really nice beach club at Gigaro Beach, which guests can get to via shuttle. We booked sun beds through the concierge for the final morning of our stay, and had a great (albeit too short!) time. It was much more peaceful than the popular Pampelonne Beach, and the water was clear and calm. Just note that the beach club isnโ€™t private (non-hotel guests can book sun beds), although that wasnโ€™t a problem for us.

One Thing to Keep in Mind: Location

The one potential drawback of this hotel is the location. That said, it may not be a drawback for you โ€“ it completely depends on your vacation plans and preferences.

Lily of the Valley is located in La Croix-Valmer, and is about a 25 to 30-minute drive from the center of Saint-Tropez. We went into town twice during our visit, and also went over to Pampelonne Beach a couple times to check out the beach clubs. This drive wasnโ€™t a big deal to us, but itโ€™s something to keep in mind if you prefer to spend less time in the car.

Note that you can book a car service through Lily of the Valley from the hotel to town, if needed. We chose to do this for one night out in Saint-Tropez, and the experience was seamless and our drivers were friendly.

Hotel Lily of the Valley: Absolutely Worth a Stay

I highly recommend Lily of the Valley to anyone looking for a luxurious and peaceful getaway to the greater Saint-Tropez area. While certainly a splurge, itโ€™s worth it if youโ€™re looking to indulge. I was honestly a bit sad to leave when it was time to check out, so suffice it to say, I would happily stay there again!ย
