Cambria Beach Lodge Review: An Honest Take on This Hotel

Deciding where to stay in Cambria can be overwhelming โ€“ there are a lot of good options! After combing through different accommodations online, I decided to stay at a charming hotel right by the beach: Cambria Beach Lodge.

In this Cambria Beach Lodge review, Iโ€™ll talk about the highlights (and a couple small drawbacks) of enjoying a getaway at this lovely hotel on the coast.

This is not a sponsored post โ€“ I fully paid for my stay! This is a completely honest review based on my experience.

Cambria Beach Lodge: An Overview of this Cambria Hotel

Cambria Beach Lodge (which is underneath the World of Hyatt umbrella) is a former motel renovated into a modern yet laid-back coastal hotel with 27 rooms. Located right across the road from Moonstone Beach, it is the perfect spot for a relaxing Cambria getaway.

Given the proximity to Hearst Castle in San Simeon (it is only a 10-minute drive away!), itโ€™s also an ideal hotel for anyone planning on touring this historic spot.

Note: this is one of the better dog-friendly Cambria hotels. While I did not travel with a dog, this is something worth noting if youโ€™ll be visiting the region with a furry friend!

What I Loved About My Stay at Cambria Beach Lodge

Here are some things I particularly enjoyed about my stay at this Central Coast hotel. For reference, I booked the Deluxe King room:

  • Amazing Location: As far as hotels in Cambria go, the location is top-notch. The hotel is right across the street from the Moonstone Beach Boardwalk (one of the top attractions in Cambria), and you have unobstructed views of the water from the front of the hotel. Itโ€™s also a very short drive away from the best eateries and shops in the area.
  • Clean & Spacious Room: The room was particularly spacious for a hotel room โ€“ my husband and I were able to put out both of our suitcases and still have room to move around. It also felt very clean and comfortable (the bed was a 10/10!), and I enjoyed the chill beach-inspired design.
  • High-Quality Amenities: I especially appreciated the liquid hand soap (itโ€™s one of my biggest pet peeves when hotels only provide soap bars!) and the full-length mirror in the bathroom. The full-sized bottles of high-quality shampoo, conditioner, body soap, and body lotion were also appreciated. Additionally, the hotel provided thoughtful mini bar offerings, including Sun Bum sunscreen if you forgot to pack some, as well as surfboard wax.
  • Great Breakfast Options: Every morning in the reception area, the hotel provides a light breakfast spread with hard-boiled eggs, bread from a local bakery, oatmeal, fruit, coffee (with milk and plant-based alternatives), and orange juice. I was a huge fan of the pumpkin walnut bread, as well as the coffee โ€“ no subpar brew here! My husband and I enjoyed eating our meal by the fireplace and watching the surfers through the giant windows.
  • Linus Bikes Available for Guest Use: While I didnโ€™t go on a ride during my stay, the hotel provides bikes for guest use.

A Minor Con

Overall, I really enjoyed my stay at Cambria Beach Lodge and would happily stay again. However, there was a small drawback.

If youโ€™ve read through other Cambria Beach Lodge reviews, you may have seen some guests talk about the thin walls. On our first night, there was a guest in the room next to us that was a particularly loud snorer. To be fair, the second night was much quieter โ€“ we didnโ€™t hear anything in the room next to us. If I were to stay again, Iโ€™d be sure to bring along some ear plugs!
